Anti Aging Skin Care

There comes a point in nearly everyone’s life where using anti aging skin care products becomes a priority. If you’re smart, you are in your 20’s or 30’s and looking for prevention. But if you wait too long, soon you’ll be in your 40’s, 50’s or 60’s seeking products to restore your youthful appearance by diminishing those pesky fine lines and wrinkles.

Anti Aging Skin Care Journey

My journey began in my 50’s when I began to get a better understanding of my skin, the aging process and the types of products and skin care treatments available. I was amazed at the perplexing array of products that were being recommended for anti aging skin care. I told my friend, “I’m not interested in a multi-step process, just give me a good moisturizer”.

Then I started learning that using just a moisturizer wasn’t going to be beneficial to my skin if I hadn’t properly cleansed it and prepared it for the moisturizer.

Weed, Feed and Water

Think of your skin as a garden – you want to weed, feed and water. When I was just using a moisturizer, all I was doing was watering! Now I cleanse (weed), apply a sumptuous serum (feed) followed by a magnificent day or night moisturizer (water). I quickly discovered that a good anti aging skin care regime was not onerous or even all that expensive. In fact, it was actually quite simple and not at all time consuming. Best of all, I began to look forward to the time I could pamper myself with these luxurious products on my skin. It’s like I can’t wait to go to bed to use the night moisturizer (my favourite) and then I’m excited to see how dewy and radiant I look in the morning. It feels good to know I’m taking care of myself and looking better than I have in years!

I’m learning a lot about anti aging skin care and well-being matters such as the ingredients in products that go on our skin. I don’t have all the answers, but I’m happy to share what I’ve learned so far.
